She placed a plate on the wheel, gave it a slight spin and then placed her brush loaded with paint which gave a nice swirl of paint around the edge of the plate for a lovely border.

May Cheong-Sahgal demonstrated the "One-fire technique in porcelain painting"

2004 "Chinese scenery" by Janny Chan Wong

She showed how to use fat oil and turpentine to do a landscape piece. The fired plate looked just like Chinese brush painting and was very different and unique to porcelain painting.

Meelee Casey demonstrated how to do a "Colourful fruit plate"

2004 "Colourful fruit plate" by Meelee Casey

She painted fruits like apples, grapes and even blueberries. There were a lot of ooh's and ah's from the audience as Meelee went about gliding her brush over the bone china plate applying strong colours to the plate. The finished plate looked amazing, we almost wanted to eat the plate.

2004 "Dresden and Meissen" by Rumi Agawa

She showed us how to paint a one-fire tulip. Members were fascinated how she applied brush and paint to bring the flower to life.
